The overall feedback received for our poster and digipak were positive. Many picked up on the clear representation of youth and the quirky feel the artist is portraying.
Audience members said the costume, bear prop and friendship bracelets showed the artist as youthful. Along with this they also said the eye contact given on the front cover of the digipak was effective in creating an interest. However some members commented on the serious facial expression the artist had saying it gave the album a more serious feel. Although some also said this made her seem more relatable as it is clear she will be dealing with teenage problems, something the target audience can relate to.
Other members commented on the use of a leaf instead of the artist on the poster for the album. They said this once again create intrest immediately and had a very quirky feel fitting well into the Indie Pop genre. Some member commented on the seriousness of the poster as the poster is simple, using a white background, black font and striking image however none said they were discoursed by this but instead said it created mystery whilst also making the leaf stand out.
Many said the handwritten font style was effect with keeping to genre whilst also commenting on the use of simple colours being clear. Member said the use of a leaf on the poster and the album name 'Autumn' linked well together, keeping a theme throughout all the products, finding this very effective. On the digipak we used images of the artist instead of just a leaf so the audience would pick up on the artist easily, selling more records. Member said they liked the use of the artist on the cover, saying this was more effective than if we had once again used the leaf.
Some memebers picked up on the postion of the font on the poster saying it may have been more effective if some of the writting and image were lower down to the album name. As a group we felt that the leaf was in the right postion as it was in the center drawing more focus to the image. However we agree that the artists name could have been moved down slightly although this is not a huge factor and we don't think it takes away from the poster.
One other improvement was that on one of our inlay pictures it was clear that the image had been extended as a line was clearly in the frame. As a group we spent a long time trying to fix this problem however we could not find a solution to it. We do not think this takes away from the digipak as a whole.
