Music Video;
Image
The opening of the video is a woman, hinting she is the main artist. She looks depressed eating chocolate and crying with clips of her and a man inbetween these scenes showing stereotypes of a weak woman. However the video goes on to show the artist getting revenge on the man who has left her connoting she is a very powerful woman. The background in the opening image is red linking with the album art work and her dangoures, powerful image. There is also the use of clothing and jewelry throughout the video with girly colours of white and pink. This gives her a iconic look and shows she has a softer side to her. There is also the iconography of London throughout the video with the cafe sense, cups of tea, crime, night life and taxis showing that she is a British artist and this influences her work.
Editing
The video contains all straight cuts connoting that the artist is straight forward herself. There are also clips that have been seeded up to create an effect of a busy day in her life. The camera movements are hand held giving the video a down to earth feel with some clips darker with a CCTV feel to connote the crime in the video. The video ends on the artist with a black background, this along with her icon look leaves the audience with her image.
Narrative
This video tells a story that fits along with the song lyrics. There are also characters in the video of a boy, a girl and sidekick however the woman is not in need of being rescued showing she is against the stereotypes and is a powerful woman.
Album Advert;
This is a poster for a single release from Lily Allen. Unlike the album artwork this poster shows a different, more sophisticated side to the artist. The background is more strutted and the artist herself looks less intimidating. The font is also less striking however the same colour scheme of red and black is used to link the poster and the artwork together along with the same font and layout of the artists name on both the poster and album. The post includes important information about the release date of the single and album.
